FAQs

That Purple Lady understands the unique needs of our clients. Our ever attentive artistic team will make every effort to ensure you are satisfied with our service.

What are the types of services That Purple Lady provides?
We offer face painting, glitter tattoos, henna art and kids crafts activities for all occasions.

How many faces can you paint in an hour?
We can paint an average of 10-12 faces in an hour depending on the complexity of the face painting design you selected. We can move through more people if designs are simpler or smaller. If you would like a particularly detailed design, more time will be required. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss the specific booking requirements for your event.

What areas do you cover?
We handle events over all of Singapore even those as far flung as Sentosa island! Travel charges apply.

What do we need to supply?
A couple of chairs and a table (does not need to be a big one).
Also, in inclement weather, please ensure that the area dedicated for our artists, if held outdoors, are sheltered. Otherwise, we would recommend to be moved indoors.

This is simply because face painting and rain just do not mix.

Are your paints / glitters safe to be used on children?
We use professional cosmetic grade face paints and glitters made especially for use on skin. We do not use cheap craft / acrylic paints. "Washable" or "non-toxic" does not necessarily mean that it is safe on the skin. These products contain harsh chemicals that can damage and irritate sensitive skin or severely irritate the eyes. Our kit includes Snazaroo and TAG paints which have been specially formulated for safe use on skin.

Can you paint within the theme of my party?
Definitely! Custom designs are offered for themed parties and events. Email us right away to talk over your theme and we shall see what ideas we can come up with. Keep in mind that more time may be needed per child depending on the complexity of the design and this may affect the time we are booked for.

What are your charges like?
Our rates start from $80 and the minimum booking time is 1 hour.

Is there any setting or environment That Purple Lady cannot work in?
Please do not ask us to paint offensive symbols or paint on inappropriate areas of the body. Requests of this nature will be refused without being in breach of any contract or agreement.

Should there be any illegal activities present, for the sole safety of our team, we reserve the right to remove ourselves from the event with no refund.
We do not wish to offend our clients but we kindly seek your understanding that all pets be restrained or locked away whilst we are onsite working at your premises. We find loose pets to be an occupational hazard and extremely distracting.

Can you paint at charity events or volunteer for a good cause?
There are so many wonderful causes out there, and the team behind That Purple Lady finds it to be an honour and a pleasure to support these through what we love doing. We welcome the opportunity to add some fun, laughs and lots of sparkle to these charities/non-profit organisations. We are open to discussions so email us right away!

What to do if a child is being "difficult" and refused to get painted ?
Please do not force a child if they are reluctant to be painted. We will not comply with the wishes of the parent or caregiver over the desire of the child. As our client, we would want you to be happy. Forcing a child to get painted goes against what face painting is all about.
Some apprehension is to be expected as young children do not always understand face painting - someone they do not know is doing something to them, which they cannot see. We will recommend to paint a design on the child's arm so they can see what is being done.

Remember, face painting is supposed to be a fun experience for both parents and kids!

What about glitter tattoos?
Glitter tattoos have special cosmetic glitter affixed to a tattoo using a skin-safe adhesive. They lasted approximately 1 week and are water-resistant. However, if you need to remove your tattoo before that time, you can do so with baby oil or 70% isopropyl alcohol.
