Glittery Easter

I hope this post is not too late as this batch of photos is from our Easter assignment which was say.... two days ago?

The team was ecstatic to be doing Glitter Tattoo as this means that we get to try out some of our specially in-house designed Glitter Stencils! (Yes, we even customized our stencils to suit your event! Book us now!) What do you think of them?

Truth, Honor, Patriotism - Captain America !

If there is anyone in the world that has not caught the awesome movie Captain America The Winter Soldier, that person would be ME. So, to mask my disappointment at not being able to marvel at Chris Evans hot bod in The Winter Soldier, I went on to harness the powers that be and destroyed part of the wall in my house. Captain America's Shield is indeed powerful. Even if it is just a paint on one!

By the way, I still have a couple more of Disney princesses to update. I thought I'd take a break from the princess business for a bit since Captain America's a hot commodity in theatres around Singapore right now. Till next time!

March On.... For MORE Disney Princesses - Belle & Ariel

Hi Readers!

I sincerely apologize for the lack of updates. My last post was on March 1st! And it has since been pouring cats and dogs here in Singapore. No more hot and dry weather hopefully! I have been frantically busy recently and......... my beloved pink, touchscreen ASUS laptop was STOLEN...!! So here I am, stealthily posting my updates here in the office, using the office computer and yes, AFTER office hours. Such dedication....

Don't worry. I HAVE been painting some princesses just for your eyes. And here they are :

I love Ariel's red hair and I really prefer painting her this way. Lends an air of "mystery" don't you think?

Some of my fellow face painters' on Instagram have posted some really, and I mean REALLY awesome pictures of Disney princesses they had painted freehand too! I am tempted to try painting Elsa from the movie Frozen but after 3 smudgy tries, I still haven't gotten her iconic braids right. If you guys are on Instagram, do follow me @thatpurplelady_sg

Let's Welcome SNOW WHITE As Our Next Princess This March!

Hello Readers!

And all too soon March is here! The dry spell has befallen this tiny island for weeks! Well over 20 days if I am not mistaken. And to add to that, we are also experiencing.... Gasp! HAZY skies! The plants and grasses have all turned brown; charred even. The beautiful flowers lining the roads are in an awfully sorry state. And there's also been a record number of vegetation fires lately.

It kinda got me thinking that maybe an evil queen has cast a spell on this island. Could it be Snow White's evil stepmother?

And so, in keeping with my princess themed month, here I am with the first princess for the month of March - Snow White! Please cast some magic spells to give us rain soon!

Start of my Princess themed week with.... Cinderella!

I dread it everytime I'm being asked to draw figures... the human form.. as I am not fantastic at it. I am always getting the head/body ratio wrong and always ending up with the character having a bigger head. So this time, I'm going to challenge myself by painting some of the famous Disney princesses. Time to put that fear aside!

Despicable Me Minions Face Painting. BEE-DO! BEE-DO...! Whaaaat??

Who doesn't love the adorable rambunctious bunch of minions from Despicable Me? Here's my take on just one of them though! What do you guys think?

Angry Birds Face Painting

Another.... shall I say arm painting since they were not done on the face to be considered a face painting? I took my time painting these birdies due to my current limited paint selections (hint: need more funding!) and the very intricacies of painting the Angry Birds characters 100% freehand.

I received some comments from people who did not believe that I had painted these freehand and thought that these were stickers or that I had used some sort of template. Believe me, if I had known any shortcuts I would have done it. After painting the second birdie, the subsequent ones just got me more and more impatient and frustrated! 

So are there are any face painters out there who have painted the Angry Birds series for your young clients before? I couldn't see myself painting these on a very young and fidgety child. So share with me any helpful tips that may help me out here ok? Till next time!
